Mojo Monday and glitter strips

I was all set to enter this card in the Papertrey Ink "Make it Monday" challenge which was to use a strip of scor-tape covered in glitter, and combine it with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, but realized I was using way too many Verve products and needed to feature some PTI so I made the second card in this post but I'm too lazy to do two postings. : ) I appologize. Anyway, the card stock base is ocean tides from PTI, I have no idea where the darker greens came from. The stamps are from Verve "Accent notes" and "Celebrating You. And there is a glitter strip running down the center of the horizontal panel (a little hard to see). The second picture gives a better picture of the dimension of the flower in the center of the medallion. It is 4 or 5 circles punched out of vellum, scrunched up and held together with a jeweled brad from SU!
The second card uses one of the free downloadable tags PTI created for their 4th anniversary festivities last month. I had colored it in before I figured out what to do with it, resulting in something that I was less than happy with and having a hard time incorporating into a project. But, inspired by the turquoise glitter (Martha Stewart) I used on the glitter strip, I added glitter to the top and bottom sections, and voila! It fit perfectly!! The sentiment is from "Celebrating You" by Verve and I thought this would make a perfect lunch box note (sized 3" square) for my husband, but it might also make a cute birthday gift tag.

Birthday Wishes

My oldest daughter's birthday is next month and I am getting a jump on things this year. This is her birthday card; she has a little stuffed bear (Ty Pluffy, Slumbers) that looks just like this little guy (at least the way I colored him!). This is the Waltzingmouse sketch for this week. The bear (which I stamped and colored three times then cut out various parts and popped them up on pop dots), sentiment and stars are from "To the Moon" by Verve, the flourish is from Inkadinkado. Papers are all DCWV. The button is a clear button; I traced around it onto green cardstock, cut it out and tied it to the button with twine.

Christmas time?

Yeay! Another Christmas card down AND something cleared off my workstation! I had two parts of the medallion sitting on my desk for at least two years just waiting and this card was the perfect opportunity to use it. This is the Mojo Monday sketch combined with the Our Daily Bread Designs challenge to stamp an image over a sentiment. The papers are all from a DCWV Christmas paper pack. I used a Hot Off the Press nested shapes template to create the shapes and edged them with a silver pen, adding a little big of silver thread under the top shape. Ribbon and red ink are from SU! The sentiment is from Richly Blessed by Verve overstamped by a large and two small snowflakes (in silver) from Inkadinkado.

Sweet Stop And Off The Wall Craftiness

More springy cards! The card combines the Sweet Stop sketch with a spin (think spring) and the Off the Wall Craftiness color challenge (pink/yellow/blue). The butterfly image is from Inkadinkado that I stamped in blue, colored with colored pencils and added white dimensional paint (see the second photo).

Spring is coming!

Even though here in the northeast we are supposed to get snow again tonight, spring is coming!! This card combines the Viva La Verve week 4 sketch, JUGS #72 color challenge (kraft, melon berry, light aqua), and the PTI Make it Monday vellum sentiment challenges. The image is from Jo Manning and is part of the digital image package Jak Heath is offering to raise money for a friend just diagnosed with cancer. Check out her site to see the rest of the package and read the story.

Love for Daddy

This will be my last posting of Valentine's Day cards for this year! yeay!! getting kind of tired of them myself. I made this one for my three girls to give to their Daddy. It uses the JUGS challenge to use the spotlight technique and the Our Daily Bread Designs "Have a HEART" challenge: use three of the following H. hemp, E. embossing, A. any Daily Bread image or sentiment, R. ribbon or lace, T. tearing or distressing. I don't have any hemp or Daily Bread stamps, so I had to go with the remainging three: embossing (cuttlebug embossing folder), ribbon, and tearing/distressing. The image is from by Lori Designs (see my previous post for info about it). The stamps are from Verve, can't think of what the name is; it's an all sentiment set dedicated to the men in your life.

Sweet Stop 95 and Off The Wall Craftiness45

This week's Sweet Stop sketch challenge is the inspiration for this Valentine's Day card for my in-laws. The digital image is from by lori designs and was part of a fantastic package put together by Jak Heath; donations to benefit a young woman named Katie who is battling cancer. Check out Jak's site to read the whole story. The image is supposed to be three little boys (representing Katie's boys), but as I have three girls--two of them twins--I added pigtails and pleats to the shorts to make them skirts. The love stamp is from SU! The card also fits the theme of Off The Wall Craftiness this week which is to use hearts and/go vintage. Now I'm not a vintage girl, but I did age the image with brown ink to soften it up a bit, and there is definitely a heart.

Elephant love

This is the Valentine's Day card for my youngest daughter using this week's sketch from Waltzingmouse. I had to sit and think for a while on how best to really stay true to the sketch as it really caught my interest! I cut out the window using one of the oval nesties and backed it with acetate so I could suspend the adorable little elephants. All the stamps are from "To the Moon" from Verve; look closely and you can see I stamped and cut out the moon from the set and adhered to the inside of the card so it peeks out the window. The last picture shows the little matching box I made to hold her treats.

Papertrey Ink's BIG challenge

The challenge Nicole Heady issued today for the Papertrey Ink festivities was to use something unexpectedly big on your card/project. I was at a loss until I remember she mentioned huge tags, so I made this little (big) number. It doesn't seem all the big, and it really isn't, but compared to the box it is going on (see second picture), it is HUGE!! This is for my middle daughter for Valentine's Day. She has a special little monkey that looks a whole lot like this guy, so cute! He is from "To the Moon" from Verve as is the little heart trio and swirl under the sentiment which is from Damask Designs by PTI.

PTI Tag Challenge

More fun from Papertrey Ink! Today's challenge is to create something using tags and frames together. I made my own tag which doubles as a gift card holder (see second picture). It is about 3x2 1/2". The frame is made from the "places please" die and stamp set. I filled it using "I love you" from Damask Designs (PTI) and the hearts are "To the Moon" by Verve. I stamped the damask background stamp from Damask Designs along the bottom of the tag. The flower is velum stamped with a random french script and a handmade paper rose. Enjoy and go check out the fun on Nicole's blog.

PTI Button challenge

For today's festivities over at Papertrey Ink, Nicole issued the challenge to use buttons in a creative way. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, specially in a short amount of time. And amazingly, no stamps were use in the making of this card! The focal image is a free downloadable tag from PTI earlier in the week.

PTI color combo challenge card 4

I used this layout in this post, but loved it so much (and it is quick and easy) I decided to use it again for one of the PTI color challenges: pure poppy, raspberry fizz, hawaiian shore, dark chocolate, kraft. A little outside my comfort zone of colors, but that's good, right? The pure poppy base, and raspberry fizz flower cs are from PTI as is the stamp from Damask Designs. The background is a random french script, overstampe with flourishes by Inkadinkadoo. I also used the smallest scalloped tag from spellbinders. Check out the PTI blog for more about the color challenges.

PTI color challenge card 3 and Mojo Monday

How cute is this little Giraffe!!!??? This is TOTALLY not a color combo I would ever use (I guess that's why it is a challenge!): ripe avocado, ocean tides, vintage cream, and dark chocolate. Personally, I think the giraffe saves it. : ) Cardstock is from PTI, stamps are from "To the Moon" by Verve and the "be mine" is from SU! (ribbon is ocean tides from PTI, too.) Check out the fun and other color challenges on Nicole Heady's blog. This card is also my first entry in the Mojo Monday challenge.

PTI color challenge card 2

This card uses the color combo: pure poppy, spring rain, kraft, and vintage cream (or at least as close as I could come on the last two). I am also entering it in PTI's FIRST Make It Monday challenge which was to use a "Go To Sentiment" (you can check it all out on Nicole Heady's blog). I actually really like how this turned out and I get to check off another Valentine's Day card made! Pure Poppy and Spring rain cardstock from PTI. Stamps from PTI and SU!

PTI color challenge 1

Ooohhh, this little monkey makes me smile everytime I see him! This card uses the color combo: ripe avacado, spring rain, dark chocolate, and kraft (well, I don't have craft, so I used a color I thought was maybe close). This is a Valentine's Day card for one of my girls. She has a TY pluffies monkey that looks just like this--as he has been well-loved hearts have appeared in his fur so if you look closely, I stamped little hearts on the dark brown fur. You can see one on the tip of his tail. And look closely through the window, I stamped a moon. So cute! All paper is PTI and the stamps are all from "To the Moon" from Verve. Oh yeah, check out the PTI blog to see the challenge and other combos.

Quilted with love

Today, I am entering my first Waltzingmouse sketch challenge, and it was lots of fun. The stamps I used are Giga Guide Lines 2, a heart stamp from a Martha Stewart set (don't know the name) and "love" from SU!. I also used a labels 5 nestie die. The focal image reminded me of a quilt, so I added some faux stitching, and since my grandmother quilts, I thought it was the perfect Valentine's Day card for her.

JUGS and Off The Wall Craftiness

I'm still stuck in Valentine's Day card making, so the Off The Wall Craftiness challenge to use white/red/pink fit in perfectly. I also use the JUGS sketch challenge for this week. Stamps are a random French script, flourishes from Inkadinkadoo, and the "love" is from SU! My red flower and card base look a bit pink in the picture, but they are more red in person.

Sweet Stop and Our Daily Bread

Today, I have combined the Sweet Stop sketch for the week and the Our Daily Bread Challenge to use dies & punches (It is the one year anniversary of their weekly challenges and so they offered several different challenges from the past year to choose from). I used circle, scalloped circle, and scalloped nestabilites dies and a Martha Stewart border punch. I'm not sure where the flower stamp came from (one of those random rubber stamps you have floating around), but the "I love you" stamp is from Damask Designs by PTI.

Papertrey Ink

In honor of Papertrey Ink's 4th anniversary, Nicole Heady asked everyone to post (or repost) their favorite card from this past year--using PTI products of course! As I looked through my cards for the year, most of them used the set Damask Designs (definitely my favorite set right now). This card is no exception. I originally posted it here if you want the details.
